Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how LoveBird Genetic Calculator (lovebirdgenetics.com) collects and uses information when you use our tool.
What We Collect
We do not collect any personal information directly. However, we use the following third-party analytics tools that may collect usage data automatically:
- Google Analytics 4: collects anonymous page views, session duration, device type, and general geographic region (country level). No personally identifiable information is stored.
- Microsoft Clarity: records anonymous session heatmaps and click patterns, plus tags for which mutations and pairing you selected in the calculator, to help us improve the tool's usability. No names, emails, or personal data are captured.
What We Do NOT Collect
- No names, email addresses, or contact details
- No account registration or login, the tool requires no sign-up
- No payment information
- No breeding records, pedigrees or bird identities. Every genetics calculation runs entirely in your browser and no result is stored on any server. The anonymous analytics below do log which mutations and which pairing you selected, as an unnamed usage event, so we can see which parts of the calculator get used
Cookies
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity use cookies and similar tracking technologies to distinguish repeat visits. By using this site, you consent to the use of these analytics cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Your Theme Preference
Your dark/light mode preference is stored in your browser's localStorage. A one-time session flag (to control the theme button animation) is stored in sessionStorage and clears automatically when you close the tab. Neither value is ever transmitted to us, both stay entirely on your device.
Children's Privacy
This tool is a general-purpose educational calculator. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
